The new 24/7 French news service is up and running on the internet, as well as cable channels in New York City and Washingon, D.C (and on satellites, Atlantic, Bird, and Sky Digital--plus others on other continents).

You can choose French or English feeds; they run simultaneously, different staff presenting the segments in each language--in some cases of breaking news or exclusive interviews with live simultaneous translation. Ten minute news segments on the hour and half hour, followed by various interviews and background reports.
*The full web site came up December 7th with a rich selection of sub-versions: choose by language, by continent, by subject interest. This is one of the best page designs I have seen.
*Hint: Choose smallest text size in your browser for optimal viewing of this site--otherwise you may not see the complete text in some of the cells.
